WordPress platform development from the ground up

Our WordPress platform development for Rate My Hair started with a clear goal: create more than another hairdresser directory. The platform gives professionals one place to build their presence, showcase their work and access practical career tools.

We handled the project from concept to launch. This included platform planning, UX/UI design, WordPress development, custom functionality, payments, membership logic, search and SEO architecture.

Rate My Hair now operates as a growing digital product rather than a conventional website. Accounts, professional profiles, portfolios, transformations, reviews and membership features all work together within one platform.

What we built

We created custom professional profiles where hairdressers can present their experience, specialisms, services and portfolio work. Search and filtering help visitors discover professionals, while transformation pages provide a dedicated space for showcasing results and collecting reviews.

We also developed the account system and Professional Toolkit. Hairdressers can manage their information and use it across several career-focused tools without repeatedly entering the same details.

This approach gave Rate My Hair a flexible foundation that can grow as new functionality and professional tools become part of the platform.

Membership and Stripe integration

Membership forms an important part of the platform. We integrated Stripe for recurring payments and connected subscription status directly with account access and profile visibility.

Custom logic manages trial, active, past-due and cancelled memberships automatically. This reduces manual administration and gives Rate My Hair the infrastructure needed to manage a growing subscriber base.
