Care Plans
Ongoing WordPress and WooCommerce care for websites that need to stay secure, fast and reliable after launch. We handle updates, backups, monitoring and maintenance, while keeping an eye on the problems that automated tools alone don't catch.

What a care plan covers?
The routine work that keeps a WordPress or WooCommerce website healthy, plus someone who knows what to do when something isn't right.
-
Updates tested, not hoped for
WordPress core, plugins and themes stay up to date, but updates aren't treated as a blind click-and-forget exercise. We check the website and deal with problems when they appear.
-
Backups that are actually usable
Regular backups give us a reliable recovery point when something goes wrong. More importantly, we make sure there is a practical route to restoring the website when needed.
-
Uptime and error monitoring
We monitor whether the website is available and watch for issues that need attention, so important problems have a better chance of being caught before your customers report them.
-
Security maintenance
Keeping WordPress secure is an ongoing job. We maintain the software, review problems when they appear and reduce unnecessary exposure wherever possible.
-
Performance checks
Websites change over time. Plugins, content, integrations and third-party scripts can all affect performance, so we keep an eye on speed rather than assuming launch-day performance lasts forever.
-
Bugs and small fixes
When something stops working properly, you already have someone familiar with the website who can investigate it instead of starting from zero with a new developer.

What being looked after means?
A care plan isn’t just a collection of automated updates. It’s ongoing technical ownership of the website, knowing how it works, watching what changes and being there when something needs attention.
Updates, done somewhere safe
We don’t treat production as the ideal place to discover that an update breaks something. Where appropriate, important updates can be checked away from the live website first, particularly on WooCommerce sites or websites with custom functionality.
Backups you could actually use
Having a backup and being able to recover from one are different things. So, backups need to be stored reliably and form part of a recovery process that makes sense if the live website fails.
Watching, so you are not the alert
You shouldn’t need a customer to tell you that your website is unavailable. Instead, monitoring helps us spot downtime and other important problems earlier so we can investigate what happened.
Security as maintenance rather than as a product
There is no single plugin that makes a WordPress website permanently secure. For that reason, we treat security as ongoing maintenance: keeping software current, limiting unnecessary risk and responding properly when something unusual happens.
A developer who already knows the site
When a problem appears, understanding the website matters. Because we already know the setup, we can investigate without spending the first part of every job rediscovering how the site was built.
Honest reporting
You don’t need a monthly report full of numbers that don’t mean anything. Instead, we’ll tell you what was updated, what needed attention and whether there is anything you actually need to know or decide.
Sites we do not host
A care plan doesn’t require moving your website to our hosting. We can maintain WordPress websites hosted elsewhere, provided the hosting environment gives us the access and tools needed to look after the site properly.
Care plan questions
01 We already have backups with our host. Isn't that enough?
Hosting backups are useful and we absolutely want them there. However, backups are only one part of maintaining a WordPress website.
A care plan also covers updates, monitoring, maintenance and having someone who understands the website when something goes wrong.
02 Do you have to host the site as well?
No. Your website can remain with its existing hosting provider as long as the environment is suitable and gives us the access needed to maintain it properly.
If the hosting itself is causing problems, we’ll tell you rather than automatically trying to move it.
03 What happens if the site goes down?
We investigate the cause and work to get the website running again. Depending on the problem, that may mean fixing an application issue, rolling back a change, restoring from backup or working with the hosting provider.
04 Are content changes included?
Small technical fixes and maintenance are different from ongoing content or development work. We’ll define what’s included in your care plan clearly, so there isn’t any ambiguity about what counts as maintenance and what requires separate work.
05 What if we just launched with another developer?
That’s fine. We can take over ongoing maintenance of a website built elsewhere.
Before the care plan begins, we’ll review the website, hosting and technical setup so we understand what we’re taking responsibility for.
06 Can we cancel?
Yes. A care plan shouldn’t exist because you’re trapped in it. We’ll agree the terms before we start, including how cancellation works and what happens when the plan ends.
07 Is this just something our host already does?
Not really. Your hosting company looks after the server and hosting environment. A care plan looks after the WordPress website running on it, its software, functionality, updates, performance and ongoing technical health.
