A custom WordPress and WooCommerce website for Lumova, bringing beauty services, online booking, gift cards and professional training into one experience.

Our WooCommerce development for Lumova brought several parts of the organisation into one clear digital experience. Lumova is a beauty and wellbeing centre in Tampere, operated by Tampere Adult Education Centre (TAKK). Alongside customer treatments, it provides a real working environment where future beauty and foot-care professionals develop their skills. Lumova has trained professionals in the sector for more than 50 years.
The website needed to work for different audiences without making the experience complicated. Customers need to explore treatments, understand pricing, book appointments and purchase gift cards. At the same time, prospective students need a clear route into Lumova’s professional training.
We designed and developed the website around these different journeys, giving Lumova one platform for services, commerce, bookings and educational content.
Lumova offers a broad treatment catalogue covering beauty, skincare, massage, hair removal and foot care. Each service needed enough information to help customers make a decision without turning the website into a difficult catalogue to navigate.
We structured treatments into clear service areas with individual information, pricing and direct routes to booking. Customers can move naturally from discovering a treatment to checking availability and reserving an appointment online.
The result keeps the commercial journey simple while giving Lumova the flexibility to manage a large and changing service catalogue through WordPress.
E-commerce serves a specific purpose on the Lumova website rather than operating as a conventional online shop. Customers can purchase gift cards online and use them across Lumova’s treatments and product purchases.
We used WooCommerce development to integrate this purchasing journey into the wider website. The system handles customer accounts and checkout while connecting to Lumova’s online payment infrastructure.
This allows the website to support both appointment-led services and direct online transactions without separating them into disconnected digital experiences.
One of the main challenges was balancing Lumova’s different roles. It operates as a customer-facing beauty and wellbeing centre while also forming part of TAKK’s professional education environment.
The design gives treatments and booking a strong commercial presence while keeping training content accessible to prospective students. WordPress provides Lumova with a manageable content foundation, while WooCommerce supports the transactional side of the website.
The result is a platform that serves customers, students and the organisation itself without losing the character of the Lumova brand.
